Launching the Fast Track Qualifying Program for "Young Leadership Talents"
"Amman, June 30 (Petra) - The Institute of Public Administration, through its Leadership Govermental Center, launched today, Sunday, the qualifying training program for the 'Young Leadership Talents' fast track, in collaboration with the Public Sector Modernization Program Management and Implementation Unit, and with support from the U.S. Agency for International Development's Governance Strengthening Program.
Engineer Saham Al-Khawaldeh, the institute's director-general, stated that this program responds to the executive initiatives of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, specifically focusing on human resources, which forms the core for participants in the fast track program. It is part of an integrated system aimed at preparing young governmental leaders capable of effecting the necessary changes.
She added that this initiative aligns with the outputs of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap and the Civil Service Human Resources Strategic Plan (2023-2027), approved by the Cabinet last August, to meet the leadership needs and support the principles and values of public sector modernization.
Al-Khawaldeh explained that the program aims to attract young talents and leaders in the public sector who possess leadership qualities, to train and refine their skills, and to early identify potential governmental talents as the initial core participants in the fast track program.
She highlighted that the program targets 45 government departments under sectors covered by components of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap and the Economic Modernization Vision, under specific nomination criteria.
She confirmed that to ensure the governance of the program, a steering committee has been formed to oversee it, along with a technical committee responsible for conducting personal interviews and evaluating projects submitted by participants.
Al-Khawaldeh noted that applicants for the program underwent an evaluation process based on several criteria. A total of 233 electronic applications were received, out of which 101 applicants underwent intelligence tests, 74 underwent leadership skills tests, and based on the results, 34 individuals were interviewed. Ultimately, 26 participants were selected from 17 government departments, including 14 females and 12 males.
It is worth mentioning that the detailed training program was designed to cover various important topics to achieve its objectives, including familiarizing participants with national modernization plans and visions, in addition to administrative subjects such as strategic planning, future foresight, institutional culture, and digital transformation." -- (Petra)
